185: Path of Focused Effort with Charlie Perez

My guest this week is USPSA Grand Master Charlie Perez and we discuss how to practice mental discipline in daily life to help your match performance, what is dry fire vs dry practice? And how to avoid the wrong type of practice as an adult learner. I also give Charlie the opportunity to share some things about 3-Gun that he’s observed and how we can be better.

Charlie is like a lot of us, he loves to tinker but he is quick to point out that a lot of us can fall into the trap of chasing the widgets. We talk about how to avoid that and focusing on making fun a higher priority than performance. Something we all tend to forget from time to time. On the performance end Charlie has noticed a few things that we 3-Gunners can improve from his observations including how to encourage more speed in your game or why “the turtle promotes more turtle.”

Plus! Charlie’s idea to market practical shooting to other racers…
