218: The Warrior Spirit with Garrett Grover

Garrett Grover of Rise Armament is on the podcast this week and while we do discuss the details of what he does at Rise and how the company is growing in what many consider a Bear market for firearms, the meat of our topic is how competitive shooting helped Garrett with his transition back to civilian life when he came back from Afghanistan.

Garrett really opens up here, talking about the friends he lost, how much his fellow soldiers meant to him and what the dynamic is like when you’re in war. This was a very touching interview and really helped me as someone who has never served to understand the camaraderie that folks who protect our nation feel for one another and how that transition back to civilian life can be very challenging. Garrett credits competitive shooting with giving him purpose and helping with that transition.
